DTSA’s Alta Baja Market celebrates the flavors of Mexico, California and the American Southwest.
Alta Baja is a market and deli celebrating the flavors of California, the American Southwest and Mexico with produce, packaged food items, classes, and city tours. Alta Baja Market carries cheeses, bakery items, beer and wine, gifts and groceries from craft makers across these regions, many unavailable outside of their communities. The Market serves unique cheese platters, seasonal produce from local farms and specialty sandwiches, as well as tarts and snacks using the ingredients sold in the store. But more than just being a boutique market, Alta Baja hosts regular pairing workshops, cooking classes, lectures and monthly pop-up restaurants highlighting local chefs and community members serving traditional foods. In addition to stocking food, Alta Baja works with local food/craft makers in product development, marketing and job training.
